Canon Ixus 120ISOctober 19th, 2009 by Khym Ong |
My powershot on the left and ixus on the right

I’m particularly impressed by the Canon Ixus 120IS, after using it to snap some pictures. I have to say from my personal opinion, the flash cycle is very fast(no time wasting for the next shot) and they execute and control the flash accordingly matching the power to the estimated distance. You won’t get very bright flash blast onto your face, when you took pictures at a close distance. Let the Pictures speak for itself. I will compare two pictures taken in an almost totally dark room with night mode and flash on , one taken by my 80IS and 120IS.
Taken with Ixus 80IS, unedited(notice how bright the flash is. Flash is not very well controlled from the distance)
Taken with Ixus 120IS,unedited (notice how well the flash is controlled and diffused onto my Domo Kun)
I also had some pictures taken after one of my event job the other day with the canon Ixus 120IS. This one was taken indoor at Changi Airport with the camera’s indoor mode and flash. I really like how well controlled the Flash is. PS:Totally unedited picture.
That’s sum up my review and what I really liked about the Canon Ixus’s 120IS, no more ghostly sheen from flash blasting onto my already fair face when I take pictures at night or in clubs! Most likely this is the next camera I will upgrade to in the very near future.

*Some of these pictures are from recent photoshoot assignments, whipped out the Ixus120IS to have some fun :)
