California Dreaming. NOT.November 18th, 2009 by Stephanie Lee |
Sleepless.
I think that’s what jet lag does to you. Hello to one and all, for those who wanna know, i’m in the US of A again! This time in California where the boys are cool all surfers maybe! and the girls are pretty. =) Saw the pictures of the invites that some of the Gorgeous-ians received and I’m envious. Must be kinda surreal and exciting. Unfortunately, I was unable to go for the fitting because of this long trip so I’m sorta prepared to be pleasantly surprised by the wardrobe that our kind Female Stylists, Staff and BEBE would have picked out for me.
Not too sure if i’ll be able to fit in though. California, acutally the US in general is all GOOD food and sins okie. Have anyone tried the cinnamon rolls from CINNABON? OMG they are beyond addictive (actually amongst other things) =(
Having visited the states that many times (first trip as far as i can remember was a road trip across a few states as a post graduation reward), there are some obvious differences between the East and West coast. Personally I prefer New York on the East as everything is bustling and the subway system is extensive. There isnt a need to drive and even if you’re scared of commuting via the subway, you only have to step outta your door and there’s always something new to discover or do – a new neighbourhood, new sights, new eating joint etc. However the weather conditions are harsher and the big Apple is known to experience a harsh winter with generally hard to predict weather.
In the East Coast here in LA, I’m kinda feeling lost and inadequate. Haha. Well, Los Angeles IS a CITY of driving. You have to drive to get somewhere, you can walk of course but the buildings are more widely spaced and mostly they are only double storeyed. Definitely few skyscrapers unless we’re in the downtown area. Imagine that you wanna move from building to building and you have to definitely walk a further distance than if you were in clustered NYC! And considering I’m kinda a BAD not so adept driver, it’s better to leave left-hand drive untouched lest I would appear on the Straits Times under ominous headlines =((( LOL.
In short, I think i’d rather be in the NY now for the close proximity of everything and I do miss the feel of romantic autumm.

Catching a fallen leave's supposed to give Luck
